This directory contains 79 Mars Global Surveyor Orbiter Camera (MOC)
images in Planetary Data System (PDS) compressed image (IMQ) format.
To create PDS uncompressed image (IMG) format, use the program
'readmoc' which is provided on the PDS archive CD-ROMs in the software
directory.  That directory includes both a SunOS (and Solaris) and
Windows98 (DOS) version of the decompression program.  This directory
also includes a text file, 'ancillary.tab' that provides ancillary
image information in PDS format, and a JPEG version of the maps
provided by T. Parker showing the landing ellipses presently being
targeted, with the approximate locations of the 44 NA and 35 WA
context images included in this release marked in red and blue,
respectively.

NOTE: These data have not been validated for delivery to the PDS.
They are made available to the Mars Geoscience community and the Mars
Exploration Program to support landing site selection and validation
for the Mars Exploration Rover (MER) 2003 and later landing missions.
