MARS EXPLORATION ROVER LANDING SITE MEMORANDUM

Re: Updated Center Ellipse Locations

We are providing an updated list of landing site ellipse centers that corrects some continuing typos in previous lists of ellipse centers. Six high-priority areas remain under consideration, which include 11 individual ellipses. Eight nadir-only imaging areas remain under consideration (note that the two sites in Candor Chasma and the site in Ganges Chasma have been eliminated on safety grounds), which include 15 individual ellipses. The list includes the area, the site number and the ellipse center latitude and longitude in the MDIM-2 coordinate system. These locations are the same as those shown in the maps distributed in April, as are the ellipse sizes.
